Lessons from Geese

Lessons from Geese

A rich powerful DVD session explores leadership from Geese.

"LESSONS FROM GEESE" was transcribed from a speech given by Angeles Arrien at the 1991 Organisational Development Network in the USA and was based on the work of Milton Olson.

By studying the flying formation of geese he translated important leadership and teamwork lessons that can be incorporated into any conference or teambuilding and leadership workshop
.
Examples of lessons from geese:
 As each bird flaps its wings, it creates life for next bird following, which increases the flocks flying range by over 70%. Lesson – by sharing a common direction and sense of community teams can get where they are going quicker and easier because they require less energy and can get farther.

 When the lead goose gets tired, it rotates back into the formation and another flies at the point position. Lesson - It pays to take turns doing the hard tasks, and sharing leadership - with people, as with geese, we are interdependent on each other.

 The geese in formation honk from behind to encourage those up front to keep up their speed. Lesson: We all need to encouragement to keep doing our best.

There is a lot that can be learned from geese and applied to how we approach working together as a team, which is why this DVD is a unique and applicable addition to your next event.
